In an attempt to save my life, I started a conditioning program five weeks ago. I am swimming three days a week, and lifting weights twice. When I started, I could barely finish one lap.
I am following a conditioning program designed by Michael Phelps coach. I trains three energy systems - endurance/lactate threshold/speed. I can't believe how fit I am getting. I feel wonderful when the workouts are over and I look forward to them.
This photo is me after finishing 1500 meters in a long course pool on endurance day. That is 30 laps. This has got to be having a positive effect on my cardio. Wow!
