New Go Pro Hero 7 Silver for Christmas

I got a new camera for my arsenal last Christmas. The GoPro Hero 7 Silver will be a huge upgrade to what I am trying to do with my photography. My YouTube channel is taking off and I am now making money with it. I just need to keep putting up fresh content that people will want to watch. This is a video I took and edited as an experiment to see how I could do it.

The taxi business in Tampa is officially dead

NOTICE NO CALLS ON THE BOARD DURING THE PIRATE INVASION! This is an image of my tablet at around noon on Gasparilla day 2017. It was a clear board. In years past, there would have been 1,500,000,000 calls on the board. The business is gone. There is not anything more I can say about that. I used to blame the HCPTC for taking no action to stop a gypsy cab operation. They were compromised early in the process of negotiations, and with the billions behind Uber, is that a surprise? The only mystery now is why do so many drivers continue to work for a leasing operation. There are no real perks to that anymore. The airport will soon be open season. When that happens, you won't be able to find a taxi in this town anymore. I did pick up a couple south of Gandy who told me the reason they called United Cab was they did not want to pay 10x surge. A 10 dollar fare would now be over 100 bucks. Apparently many were willing to pay that instead of getting into a taxi. Its over fo...

Merry Christmas and my new Go Vision camera

George got me this cool covert camera for Christmas to film field work. I can also use it in the taxi because it is hands free. It sort of like a GoPro. I think it has great potential. I only had to spend most of my Xmas day figuring it out. The original files are not compatible with Windows 10. I had to find an easy way to convert them. Plus, the record light has to pulse when it working and the directions do not tell you that. Lots of bugs, but I think I have it all figured out.

My new Dell computer

I just bought my first computer since 2004. The other one lasted ten years and served me well. I have been using a phone for the last two years and that really sucks. The reason is that you have to use your finger tips to find the letters and its really a pain in the ass. Problem solved with this new Dell with 8 gig and 1 tarabite of memory. What you see in the photo is a screen image taken of my TypePad site "Nude Taxi Driving" which you can find at www.timfasano.com . That site is actually older than this one. I pay a monthly fee, so it is in my interest to use it. I have been messing around with this Windows 10 since I bought it home. Not so sure I like it. Too fancy for me and no icons show on the home screen. What is with that? Am I doing something wrong? It will take some time to get used to it. I do like the large amount of memory this computer has. Since I do a lot of video editing, this will be a dream. Just wanted to let you know that since I have a real key...

Gabriel

Elena wanted me to post photos from Gabriel's first birthday party. Sorry I did not take more images but my phone went dead. Here is a stressed out hippy mama. You got to admit, Gabriel is a handsome young man. posted from Bloggeroid

Fellowship on Thanksgiving

I got to spend Thanksgiving as a guest at Kevin and Teri's. A.B. was there showing his old 8 mm film from the Navy, World's Fair, Kudzu Caverns, and other places. I was honored to be their guest. Teri made a wonderful meal and we ate till we could not move.

Christmas in August (from 2005)

I got a call for  Macdintons Pub about 4:00 a.m. but of course nobody here. That is not unusual for this hour or for many of the So Ho district watering holes. No need to complain. I pick up here often on most nights and the place can be quite lucrative. Too bad Collette is back in Ireland. She was truly one the most colorful char acters working the Irish bar scene in the Hyde Park area of Tampa I saw the pretty Christmas lights and using a night exposure, trying to hold the camera steady for a 2 second exposure, I got this shot of their Xmas's lights. A lot of memories here. I hope next year will be even better.

Taxi driver recreation

I went camping last week with friends. It was at a commercial site which is a change of pace from our usual primitive/backcountry outings in Florida. You can see the taxi and my tent (I have two tents) and I enjoyed having a bathroom across the way. This is George who brought most of the gear and got us started on chopping wood. He is a guy that will have a gadget for everything. He also happens to be the host of a local TV show about the paranormal. We really had a nice fire going just before sunset and were waiting for Teri and Kevin to show up. They soon did and Kevin became "Children of the Corn" which is a tradition for us. It all went downhill after dinner when we decided to go look for Bigfoot. That is when I got hurt skidding down a limestone rock face. I have been out of commission but I am on the mend.

A late happy Holidays and New Year

I found this Christmas tribute on Kevin's channel (he is playing guitar in the video below). I had been looking for it. I think it still fits for the holiday season. Happy New Year everyone.
