The Bag Lady

This is really sad. I have seen this lady for years pushing this cart down the street, loaded with stuff. She is obviously mentally ill. You would think someone could help her. Maybe the cops could Baker act her, and get her help. On this issue, they say its a liberty issue and she can do what she wants. Funny, on other issues the cops are all up in our business. Sad. Very sad. posted from Bloggeroid

A homeless story

It was hard to get to mad at this guy today. He was just trying to survive like I am. I have been driving for 14 years and I have regularly picked "Dave" up over the years. He used to live on Wisconsin ave until he was evicted. I picked him up today at the Crosstown Inn, a sort of rundown motel at Dale Mabry and Gandy. He needed to go to Metropolitan Ministries because that is where his mail is now being delivered. I agreed to take him and pick up his Social Security check and then, take him to Amscot. Sounded simple. It got a little complicated. He went inside the Mission, which was crowded with people picking up boxes of food and waiting in line inside for what the sign on the door said "food, money, living expenses" and other things like that. I could not help but notice that the parking lot was full of new and late model cars. Go see for yourself. Just go by. That really pissed me off. Many time in my life, I have had to sell a car or other ...

The sad life of Kim

Kim has been on the streets for at least twenty years. Long time cab drivers know her from Kennedy Blvd where she would work as a prostitute. She is mentally ill and unpredictable. She can also be sweet and nice. I saw her today for the first time in a year. I was at a gas station and she asked me for money. I just don't have any extra and told her no. She looked sad, and walked off. I genuinely have sorrow for her. Her disappearances are from being in jail or rehab. I hope. Perhaps ObamaCare will help her if she goes online and pays the $400 a month. Right.

Free enterprise

This was 100 feet from a homeless camp along the railroad tracks. The parking spaces for sale were on city property. Did I mention nowhere near the parade rout. I guess, in this Obama economy, capitalism looks good. I hope they made a bundle.
