Tampa Taxi Shots

Abandoned building in south St. Petersburg I have started a new business of running medical charges. My activity is all in St. Petersburg and my first two days have been a resounding success. Since I am new to this area, I did notice some abandoned buildings with a theme graffiti. I have no idea what those buildings were (except the bank) but the birds and the word loser are on two of them. A customer of mine said they may have been the old welfare buildings. Not sure. Holding up the college tradition of binge drinking, FSU students, and alumni, participated in a drunken pub crawl in Ybor City. Many people had come into town for this. My advice for the young people that were in my cab, was to pace yourself and take it slow. The turtle will win this race. Ybor was mobbed with these people just before sunset. posted from Bloggeroid

This is really sad. I have seen this lady for years pushing this cart down the street, loaded with stuff. She is obviously mentally ill. You would think someone could help her. Maybe the cops could Baker act her, and get her help. On this issue, they say its a liberty issue and she can do what she wants. Funny, on other issues the cops are all up in our business. Sad. I'm not feeling so good today but I did get this dog hanging out the window. Check the category list and you will see many dogs doing this. My leg is still not doing well. I am treating it and taking the antibiotics. That's all I can do.

This was seen on the side of a mailbox. This is Obama smoking pot and dressed like a pump. I guess them selfies can come back to haunt you. The thing is he's never told young people smoking dope is bad.

Tony was a guy that everyone liked and knew. He was an old crab apple but he was in poor heath that must have affected his mood. He was one of the long time drivers from way back. I mean back to "The Bagel Boys" days. If you are still around from that time, you are one of a handful. Tony came to Florida like many do in search of a better life. That was in the days when they said you got paid in sunshine. Hell, he had already been driving cab 15 years when I started in 1995. He worked the airport for ten years, then, became a night driver. No matter what he did, he could not get ahead. I used to talk to Tony a lot and he expressed a desire to work in the hot rod industry. He was an expert of vintage cars. However, he could never get his finances right to move to California where the action was. Instead, he stayed in the cab until the day he died. Literally. That is a fate that awaits many cab drivers who get into a since of denial about just how bad things are. I promi...

There were thousands race walking in the Gasparillia run Saturday. It was raining hard but they looked happy. I caught a glimpse from the Hyde Park bridge and got this shot. Looked like fun. More fun then driving a taxi cab.
