Uber Drivers protest the ticketing of drivers |
Their major claim is that the HCPTC protects and outdated form of business. The claim taxi companies are actually a monopoly. This is not true. There are about 48 taxi companies iandin Tampa growing. Bids are taken on medallions every year and the majority of them go to private owners. The Big taxi companies have enough cars to manage and do not want to match active cars with working medamedallions if there are no drivers.
What will become a monopoly is Uber.
The history of this country has shown that natural monopolies occur when capitalism is UNREGULATED. Have you ever heard of the Sherman Antitrust Act? The Clayton Anti-Competition Act? I really thought this issue was settled over 100 years ago.
Ronald Reagan once said he flunked history in high school and was forced to repeat it.
We will repeat another sad saga of American history if these outlaws are not stopped.
What people don't realize is that the business model of Uber is to create a monopoly by putting all of its competition out of business.
When they are the only player because all the taxi companies are gone, God knows how much money you will pay for a ride. And all of this from a company that does not service poor neighborhoods. This is by design. It racial in its intent and its called "RedLining."
Uber is operating at a loss now to crush people who need to make money now. You people cannot be foolish enough to think they have your best interest in mind.
Another megacorporation trying to crush the little guys out of existence. www.greencabdbq.com
