Flood in Tampa

Tampa had record rainfall today. I have lived in Tampa Bay area for over 35 years and I have never seen it rain this hard. In fact, by 2 p.m. there was a record amount of rain. According to the Bay News 9 app on my phone the band of bad weather was moving in the moving in hard. I, like many others, was attempting to get to the safety of home. I did not make it. I had to seek high ground just blocks from where I live because the water was rising visibly. I was lucky more than others because I did not flood out. While waiting for the water to subside I walked over to Kennedy Boulevard and was astonished at what I saw. The water line was over the curb in the parking lot and up to the building structures themselves. Multiple cars have been abandoned because their engines had taken on water. It look like a disaster zone. It look like the road to Bagdad after the Allied bombing. It is amazing how just water can cause such problems. Many people suffered today and this is just an inkling of what could happen is there was a major hurricane. I've posted some photos what I saw you will see them on this post. What was amazing is that during all of this my tablet was lit up with people needing taxi cabs. I guess if their car is flooded they must think we have amphibious vehicles in 20 years of driving taxi I never cease to be amazed at the wisdom of people. I hope people are safe and that property damage was kept to a minimum

The water made it into this store.

My taxi on higher ground.

Don't drown. Turn around.

Happy Hillary Halloween

Is there anything scarier than Hillary. Some would say Donald Trump, perhaps. My friend set this up on his porch and I thought it was pretty cool. It's not really a political statement, it's just trying to show humor. Keep in mind, that we do live in an era where people seem to have lost their sense of humor. Anyway, if he done it with Donald Trump I would have still laughed. Happy Halloween!

Gabriel

Elena wanted me to post photos from Gabriel's first birthday party. Sorry I did not take more images but my phone went dead. Here is a stressed out hippy mama. You got to admit, Gabriel is a handsome young man. posted from Bloggeroid

BREAKING: HILLARY COLLAPSES IN NYC, STRUGGLES TO WALK, LOSES SHOE, RUSHE...

And you thought I was full of shit. Hillary is dying and needs to go to hospice and let the Presidency go to a more fit person. The lies are beyond belief. You liberals would vote for her if she was dead on election night and in a coffin. Alvin Toffler was right.

Yankee spring training photo shoot

I was in downtown Tampa this afternoon and saw a photographer working with a model in a skimpy baseball uniform. It had to be for some New York publication. The Yankees are here for spring training. There had to be a connection. She did have nice legs. posted from Bloggeroid

Pam Callahan Nature Preserve

I took a hike today in Pam Callahan Memorial Park and enjoyed this cool air. She was an environmental advocate who fought to protect this nature preserve from development. If you have a couple hours you can have a relaxing hike, and explore the new loop trail. What's cool is you will never know you are so close to civilization. I had fun.

The political decision process on Uber

Today at the hockey arena in downtown Tampa, all of the local Tampa Bay state representatives and senators gathered  for the transportation hearing. What was first and foremost on the agenda was the subject of uber and its relationship to the Tampa Bay community. Both sides offered their reasons many of them anecdotal in nature. (Senator Jeff Brandes from St Petersburg, the one Center in the picture, came across as an arrogant asshole. He was rude and belligerent and combative with all speakers. This is an example of someone who bullied his way into a political position, no doubt. Sorry for the sidebar). State senator Arthenia Joyner was the best of the lot. She asked the most pointed questions and dug deep into the real issues. She pointed out to the room that seemed surprised to find out that all of the fees that apply to the cab companies by regulation uber has none of that. There are insurance requirements, licenses and fees, and fees associated with the airport authorit...

From back in the day

Some random shots of friends, camping, and a downtown Tampa cemetery. Lots of photos of good times. Tampa Taxi Shots is shooting. posted from Bloggeroid

Tampa from behind the wheel of a taxi cab

I shot this video a couple years ago when my computer was functional. I really need to get a new one. Anyway, I hope you like this. I did put some work into it.

The Taxi Driver who found Bigfoot (Documentary Film)

It seems that I may have been the only person in recent years that has actually found Bigfoot. I am a cab driver and this short documentary is about what I go thru and what I have been doing long before the Animal Planet "Finding Bigfoot" was on TV. They consider me a maverick but screw 'em.

Monday morning

Business has been slow. I'm not going to beat around the bush. I need shoes and shoe strings. I am broke and struggling. I am tired, frustrated, and dealing with real anger issues. I need time off, money, and rest. I can find none of this. My entire situation sucks. I want to blame someone. What compounds all of this are drivers willing to work around the clock for scant money (that forces me to do the same). I am exhausted and wish I could get a break. I do think one is coming up. United Cab is doing all they can do but the economy has greatly increased their expenses. I do hope to have a happier post at the end if the day.
