Police said Uber drivers real job was selling drugs

If you were a drug dealer, having another job that pays you to drive around town would probably complement your endeavor. Yeah?

Glendale police this week say 23-year-old Artak Avakian is an Uber driver who "used the position as a cover to sell drugs," according to a statement.

Cops arrested Avakian at 4 p.m. on Tuesday after receiving a tip that he's a "suspected drug dealer," they said.

The dumb shit circuit judge in Florida that ruled against background checks for Uber drivers said there was no evidence to show cabs were safer. Arrest happen everyday with Uber drivers. Does that judge ever read the newspaper.

  5. Their drivers have zero background checking, the driver's own insurance, warranty and lease holders as well as DOT don't even know what the majority of them are doing with the cars, they cross city, county, state..

The city of Tampa

If JFK was visiting Tampa, he would see this on the side of a building on Florida ave. How cool would that be? Graffiti art can be good sometimes.

Angel The Rescued Kitten

I have a new and wonderful friend. Her name is Angel. George found her on his way home at 3 in the morning running around on the elevated span of highway 19 in Clearwater. He pulled over and pulled out of a storm drain. He took her home and knocked on my door. He has two cats and wanted me to keep her overnight until he could find a neighbor to take her. I fell in love with her. She is now my best friend and keeps me company for I live alone. It's not fair that so much cuteness can be crammed into such a little thing.

Houston UBER DRIVER ARRESTED for rape

Duncan Burton served 14 years for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine, according to court records and the U.S. Bureau of Prisons. He was convicted by a jury in Houston and served time in Beaumont, Louisiana and Georgia before being released in 2012, according to the federal prison agency. Although sentenced originally to 18 years, he had earned nearly three years of good conduct time and had about two years of jail time. Burton, 57, was arrested Wednesday and charged with one count of sexual assault, a second-degree felony. If convicted, Burton faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. He remains in the Harris County Jail without bail. Uber spokeswoman Debbee Hancock said Monday that  Burton passed the company's background checks. She could not immediately be reached Tuesday to respond to the disclosure of Burton's drug conviction. Someone with a negotiated drug conviction on his or her record would not be eligible for a city-issued permit, ...

EVIDENCE and CRYPTID FOSSILS in Central Florida

I went back home to Mulberry Florida and went to the Mulberry Phosphate History Museum. It is only about 3 miles from the old family home but never went there. When I was younger, I was not so interested in these matters.

The job is almost fun again

The last five years have been brutal. The economic collapse left service workers in Tampa in destitution. I only wish the people responsible for this to die horrible, painful deaths. No amount of pain would be enough for those greedy bastards. Ten percent of my life down the fucking tube. No Arizona, no days off, no money, wearing dirty cloths, eating shit out of the toilet (you get used to it after a while). Anyway, the business is clearly getting better as this holiday season has been active for the first time since 2007. You understand that?..2007. I only hope this is not an illusion.

Construction in Hyde Park

There is a large construction project going on in Hyde Park, next to the SweetBay. I take this as a sign of economic recovery for it means jobs and paychecks. As a cab driver, it means possible airport fares in the early morning, something we desperately need. New construction north of Kennedy is high end and can only help the area and the cab business. One of the condo projects is where Yellow Cab used to be located. Now, people will look out their windows, see our lot, and call us. Cool.

A viscous cycle for the mentality ill

Yget his shit back You can see the swanky joint This poor guy was trying to get his stuff back from one of the run down motels on east Hillsborough ave Tampa. This place was a dump. He had been taken away by the cops a few nights ago after he went on a drunk, drugs, and hooked binge. He gets a crazy check the first of the month and blows it fast. Now, he will spend the rest of the month out on the streets. He has been doing this fir years. People say they care, but do they? From what I have seen there must be millions like him. The problem is they make poor decisions that keep them down. He said he would take real help if he could get it. He did pay me with the last little bit of money he had. He walked off after getting his stuff back and has no idea what he will do.

Eastern Standard Time

As Yogi once said, "it gets light early here." It sure was this morning. Of course we had the usual number of people putting in time calls and the cab getting there an hour early. People still go by the wall clock. Watches are not needed now, but look at your cell phone. You can see downtown Tampa here around seven this morning. posted from Bloggeroid

A Shit Ticket

Bad news. Jacamino was willing to sir on a call for two hours waiting for it to come out. We call that sand bagging. I call it "a shit ticket." There was so much business going on you couldn't shake a stick at it. Why tie yourself up like this in such a myopic way. Suit yourself dumbass. I made more money during the same time you ran the shit ticket. If Uber is around, you would not have known it today. posted from Bloggeroid

Tropical storms over Florida

It is raining 24 hours a day in Tampa. Many of the roads are flooded and it will be with us a while. The storms have actually been around for almost three weeks. This is why I have only been able to get in only two workouts in the last 20 days. Don't get me wrong. It has been good for business (we get busy when it rains) but I need to swim. My health is on the line and I need to get back to it. We do live in the sub-tropics, so rain in the summer is no surprise. posted from Bloggeroid
