The Price of gas is now lower then when Obama took office

The day Obama became President (notice the price of gas)
It's about time! The photo above was taken at the Racetrack gas station the day Obama took office in 2009. The photo below that is at the same station today and its back to the same level. Gas is a major expense for taxi drivers. Nothing could be better news than to see gas continue to fall.

Gas is lower today then six years ago
Are you going to give the credit to Obama? Is it his economic and energy policies that have led to this fall?

I would like to believe that but I can't.

If it were not for Obama's green energy policies, gas may even be lower then it is today. He has tried to kill the coal industry. He won't allow off shore drilling. He has stopped the pipeline from being built. Thank God, the fracking guys have been able to create a new source of oil and lower the demand for middle east crude.

This president (and his fans) for years wanted investigations into the oil companies because they thought they were gouging the public by artificially raising the price. What the president did not understand was the price of oil is based on world demand.

Damn. That's scary. A president that does not understand basic economic principles.

His retirement cannot come soon enough. He has created much damage.

      Why do you mention black guy? Just wondering. There is no mention of race in my post about world oil demand and redomestication of American oil supply. You call me a "neocon." You say I hate blacks but have voted for conservatives. Typical liberal response all name calling and insults. You not once stuck to any issue. I'm surprised you did not trod out the old stand by: "sexist, intolerant, xenophobic, homophobic Islamophobic, racist and bigoted, not to mention anti-intellectual and anti-science" and other ad hominem attacks that deflect away from topic.

      Here is a great example of what you "St. Pete Lib" are doing. A writer on Rational Wiki was attacking Dennis Prager. This is what he said. It seems like he says a lot but he says NOTHING:

What Lyft and Uber will take from the Tampa taxi business

A lyft car at the Iconic sign on Florida ave downtown Tampa I have been a hack in Tampa Florida since 1995. Unlike the estimated 50% of Americans that hate their jobs, I have never had a day when I did not feel like going to work. Certainly, the last few years  have not been fun because the economy fell apart like a three dollar watch. However, economies are like tides and this one is on the rebound, at a snail's pace. I would like to thank Mr. Obama for that but that would not be fair. The economy is recovering despite any fiscal policy of his. That being said - there are challenges. My job is inherently difficult. We face strange and deranged people street level on a daily basis. Taxi companies in Tampa (which are regulated) must serve the general population. We have no choice. Short fares, drunk fares, people going to buy drugs (they don't tell you that) we must pick up. Don't get me wrong, there are business people, beautiful women, great trippers, and long haul...

Getting better

The redness and swelling are going away and I can actually walk now. I just have to stay on the antibiotics and dressing the wound. I should be in rare form soon. You have no idea how bad I've felt.

The Taxi Truman Show

I may have found the escape hatch Regulated Taxi driving is now dead. Uber has taken over. The current situation is no longer tenable for drivers who face an old model of cab leasing, and can no longer continue paying a Pre-Uber lease. Today was the tipping point. Dana Young is a Liar or very confused about Uber

A very bad person with no honor or integrity I attended a meeting at the hockey arena downtown which was attended by all the Tampa Bay area state senators and representatives. In attendance was one Dana Young (R). When it was her time to speak, so told a story about a young women that was being raped. While the college student was being sexually assaulted, the student hit the Uber app on her phone and the police now knew the GPS coordinates of her location. What MS. Young did not disclose was that it happened on the UCLA campus and that it was an UBER DRIVER THAT WAS RAPING HER! Travis Kalanick and his false promise of 50,000 jobs in Europe

Its just an app folks In an attempt to make nice with Europe after getting kicked out of Germany, Travis Kalanick stated that Uber creates jobs. In fact, he said it could create 50,000 jobs if transportation authorities would only change their regulations to allow Uber to operate. He said Uber will increase efficiency and reduce emissions. They would be able to do all these wonderful things if European cities would STOP making Uber play by the rules that all forms of transportation much follow. He must think his "app" company is not a taxi company which most municipals are figuring out. Stop this madness. First, I am having a hard time figuring out what Travis means by a job. His claim is they have created 7,500 jobs in San Francisco alone. Those are mostly part time punks that don't want to work at Starbucks or Wall Mart. Happy Hillary Halloween

Is there anything scarier than Hillary. Some would say Donald Trump, perhaps. My friend set this up on his porch and I thought it was pretty cool. It's not really a political statement, it's just trying to show humor. Keep in mind, that we do live in an era where people seem to have lost their sense of humor. Anyway, if he done it with Donald Trump I would have still laughed. Happy Halloween!

Tampa Bay Downs

I went to the horse races at Tampa Bay Downs Sunday. It had been years since I had been there. Not much had changed except the Daily Racing Form is now 9 bucks. I paid it because I am from the old school, and want more comprehensive information then the track program. It did not seem to do me much good. The horse above was a maiden claiming horse. She had the top jockey and trainer on the track. Even one of the handicappers in the DRF picked the horse. So, I bet her across the board. She came in dead last. I mean I took a photo of her chasing the other horses. They not even in the frame. I actually felt sorry for the horse. Anyway, Tom could not make it, so I only stayed for a few races. I even managed to win a race. As you can see it was a nice day, so I enjoy the sights and sounds of the racetrack. They had a good crowd and most people seemed to be having fun.
