The Price of gas is now lower then when Obama took office

The day Obama became President (notice the price of gas)
It's about time! The photo above was taken at the Racetrack gas station the day Obama took office in 2009. The photo below that is at the same station today and its back to the same level. Gas is a major expense for taxi drivers. Nothing could be better news than to see gas continue to fall.

Gas is lower today then six years ago
Are you going to give the credit to Obama? Is it his economic and energy policies that have led to this fall?

I would like to believe that but I can't.

If it were not for Obama's green energy policies, gas may even be lower then it is today. He has tried to kill the coal industry. He won't allow off shore drilling. He has stopped the pipeline from being built. Thank God, the fracking guys have been able to create a new source of oil and lower the demand for middle east crude.

This president (and his fans) for years wanted investigations into the oil companies because they thought they were gouging the public by artificially raising the price. What the president did not understand was the price of oil is based on world demand.

Damn. That's scary. A president that does not understand basic economic principles.

His retirement cannot come soon enough. He has created much damage.

      Why do you mention black guy? Just wondering. There is no mention of race in my post about world oil demand and redomestication of American oil supply. You call me a "neocon." You say I hate blacks but have voted for conservatives. Typical liberal response all name calling and insults. You not once stuck to any issue. I'm surprised you did not trod out the old stand by: "sexist, intolerant, xenophobic, homophobic Islamophobic, racist and bigoted, not to mention anti-intellectual and anti-science" and other ad hominem attacks that deflect away from topic.

      Here is a great example of what you "St. Pete Lib" are doing. A writer on Rational Wiki was attacking Dennis Prager. This is what he said. It seems like he says a lot but he says NOTHING:

The Taxi Truman Show

I may have found the escape hatch Regulated Taxi driving is now dead. Uber has taken over. The current situation is no longer tenable for drivers who face an old model of cab leasing, and can no longer continue paying a Pre-Uber lease. Today was the tipping point. This time of year we should be very busy...EXTREMLY BUSY. We are not. It is dead as a doornail with drivers at the airport waiting up to 5 hours to a ride. It should be off the hook. It is for Uber. Who's picking you up?

She would never make it on the mean streets. She will stay with the craft beer drinkers and poor people suffer. People like the lady above is what is wrong with the rideshare concept. This women will never go into the bad part of town. Poor people in society suffer enough, now, they won't even be able to get rides. The cheery pickers have arrived. Uber driver Daryl Rodgers knows what he will find when driving after midnight on the weekends. “I had a lot of people who couldn’t tell what they remember from that night, they would pass out in my passenger seat until I got to their destination,” said Rodgers. The number of DUI arrest made by Tampa Police has dropped dramatically this year. For the first six months of 2014 TPD made 1124 dui arrest. The Storms of Chance

Once in a great while the storms of change will overshadow the plans of man. That would happen today. A cold wind blew over Tampa Bay this morning, a brief repose from the subtropical heat ever-present most of the year. The cool air felt good on my face and brought my spirits to a new high. I needed a lift. I had a ride out to Boco Ciega which is a beautiful part of the area. I had a scheduled ride of some significance and I felt hopeful. This ride I was on would put some serious money and my pocket. I was excided because I needed a break. Today was going to be a good day. Would I at least have an auspicious start?  It is believed Desoto once landed in this area. It was all jungle prada then. It had to have been very inhospitable to his gallant crew. Requiem for the taxi industry

We lost. Its over. Uber won in court. A republican judge ignored law and ruled Uber to be legal. They do not abide by regulations but politicians and judges don't care. The number of lives that are adversely affected by Circuit Judge Huey is immeasurable. I should be upset but I'm not. Actually, I'm over it. I have moved on. I am making money off of YouTube and will soon open a new moneymaking channel along with my swimming blog. I am done with taxi driving. The hipsters want Uber so bad, they can have it. Email from James Riley

You would have to be a very long time driver to remember James Riley. I first met James twenty years ago. He was a United Cab driver who had a few crazy girlfriends if I remember. He disappeared for a few years. Then, he showed up on the old 23 stand one day in 2010. I took this photo. Then, he vanished again. Today, I got an email from him and he is living in los Angeles. That's about all it said. This is the entry I did in 2010. I was sitting on the Dale Mabry strip zone stand waiting for a call.  This little toyota came puling up, which is not unusual.  People often ask the cab driver for directions this time of year. The guy behind the wheel looked familier, perhaps he was someone I have picked up before.  As he got close, I could tell it was James Riley.  I had not seen this guy since 2002 when he left town after his girlfriend flipped out on him and left him holding the bag.  James "Irish" Riley. Victor Crist is a political coward

He is a huge Uber supporter and leaves the taxi companies to twist.  Victor Crist is a political coward. After an un-distinguished tenure in the Florida Legislature, he is out to save his current job while former political enemies attempt to shut the HCPTC down. I attended the transportation meeting the other day and found it to be a rigged deck. The commission is charged with regulating all for hire vehicles in the Hillsborough County. They distribute medallions and make sure cars are in running order and proper insurance has been issued for cars. They are also charged with shutting the gypsy cabs down. Now, a giant gypsy cab operation has hit Tampa and they don't have any way to deal with it. I photo bombed the commission with by beautiful mug Uber has taken all of our cash business. They are a gypsy cab company. Crist admitted he must now placate certain politicians, or his board with be shut down. So be it. The cab companies may soon shut down because Crist took the
