Power Ranger character points gun at me at Bobby Hicks pool

I had just finished swimming laps at the Bobby Hicks pool when I spotted a guy that was dressed in Spider Man outfit go into the lifeguard office. I went over there to check it out. Spider Man pulled what looked like a 9mm and pointed it at me. The lifeguards were nervous and did not know him. My only thought was the Batman shootings in Colorado.

I dove into the pool and swam underwater to my gear on the pool deck. When I surfaced, he was still in the office so I took off out the back gate and over to the Boys and Girls club next door. They put the facility on lockdown as I called the police. I had no idea if he was shooting people at this point.

He emerged into the parking lot and got in his car. A cop blocked him in and told him to hold up his hands. The cops gun was drawn and he looked ready to shoot. The suspect complied.

It turned out they were realistic looking bb guns but they scared me. The guy said it was just a joke. Real funny.

The cops cuffed him and took him sway.

I may have found the escape hatch Regulated Taxi driving is now dead. Uber has taken over. The current situation is no longer tenable for drivers who face an old model of cab leasing, and can no longer continue paying a Pre-Uber lease. Today was the tipping point. The Storms of Chance

Once in a great while the storms of change will overshadow the plans of man. That would happen today. A cold wind blew over Tampa Bay this morning, a brief repose from the subtropical heat ever-present most of the year. The cool air felt good on my face and brought my spirits to a new high. I needed a lift. I had a ride out to Boco Ciega which is a beautiful part of the area. I had a scheduled ride of some significance and I felt hopeful. Requiem for the taxi industry

We lost. Its over. Uber won in court. A republican judge ignored law and ruled Uber to be legal. They do not abide by regulations but politicians and judges don't care. The number of lives that are adversely affected by Circuit Judge Huey is immeasurable. I should be upset but I'm not. Actually, I'm over it. I have moved on. Redlining practices of Uber and Lyft exclude Black People

Uber and Lyft are companies formed in Lilly white silicon valley, by Lilly white computer geeks, who would not know what the hood looked like even if they ventured into Oakland. They have put together a business model that is for white people, and excludes blacks, and most poor people. Their intent is to only cheery pick the best, and richest fares in any community, and Redline the hood and poor areas. This is easily done by allowing the drivers to not only choose where they work, but allow them to choose who they will pick up. The driver can rate the customer and, then, nobody will pick them up. If the rider does not tip (which is cultural and common with inner city people), they will get a bad rating and no Uber or Lyft guy will pick them up. I must pick them up even if they don't tip. Unlike the estimated 50% of Americans that hate their jobs, I have never had a day when I did not feel like going to work. Certainly, the last few years have not been fun because the economy fell apart like a three dollar watch. However, economies are like tides and this one is on the rebound, at a snail's pace. Uber suspends operations in Nevada

Uber, the maverick ride-sharing company that has been bending the state’s transportation rules for a month, ceased operations in Nevada late Wednesday, vowing to return when it finds a clear path to operating legally in the state. The decision for the temporary shut-down came after a conference call of Uber management and was announced publicly in a blog post on the company’s website. A company spokeswoman issued an emailed statement just after 10 p.m. “It’s unfortunate that Nevada is the first state in the nation to temporarily suspend Uber,” said spokeswoman Eva Behrend. “That means nearly 1,000 jobs just disappeared overnight and those residents lost their ability to earn a living. Angel The Rescued Kitten

I have a new and wonderful friend. Her name is Angel. George found her on his way home at 3 in the morning running around on the elevated span of highway 19 in Clearwater. He pulled over and pulled out of a storm drain. He took her home and knocked on my door. He has two cats and wanted me to keep her overnight until he could find a neighbor to take her. I fell in love with her. She is now my best friend and keeps me company for I live alone. It's not fair that so much cuteness can be crammed into such a little thing.
