An old picture of Steve

Steve was every ones favorite mechanic. He no longer works for United Cab after having a stroke. He is doing great and I am sure he does not miss the taxi cab business in Tampa. It was hot, hard work, and this business wears on you. Anyway, I found this on my files and decided to put it up.

I think I may make this blog my main blog and delete everything else. I know the Bigfoot stuff is doing well but I could not give a rats ass for anyone of the dysfunctional, marginalized, dickheads that are in that hobby.

I like to hike and camp but there is no evidence of a damn beast that anyone has ever produced. It is a cash cow of a cottage industry that is making a lot of people rich. No doubt about that. I think I am wasting my damn time.

Anyway, time to get back to being a cab driver.

    Yo Tim I too remember Steve and I am sorry to hear that he had a stroke. But glad that he is doing better. He would treat you well if you would do the same for him. Glad to see that you are going to be on one blog. I noticed on the news this morning that hundred of piece's of stuff has been spotted with satalite of the wreckage that may be Malaysia airlines jet. If it is it will take years, if ever, to find out what happened. If the pilots were inveloved where the hell were they going? But as in a lot of cases when the "smart" people don't have a answer they use the old standby. "Pilot Error". Which really pisses me off. Ask Sam.

What Lyft and Uber will take from the Tampa taxi business

A lyft car at the Iconic sign on Florida ave downtown Tampa I have been a hack in Tampa Florida since 1995. Unlike the estimated 50% of Americans that hate their jobs, I have never had a day when I did not feel like going to work. Certainly, the last few years  have not been fun because the economy fell apart like a three dollar watch. However, economies are like tides and this one is on the rebound, at a snail's pace. I would like to thank Mr. Obama for that but that would not be fair. The economy is recovering despite any fiscal policy of his. That being said - there are challenges. My job is inherently difficult. We face strange and deranged people street level on a daily basis. Taxi companies in Tampa (which are regulated) must serve the general population. We have no choice. Short fares, drunk fares, people going to buy drugs (they don't tell you that) we must pick up. Don't get me wrong, there are business people, beautiful women, great trippers, and long haul...

Happy Hillary Halloween

Is there anything scarier than Hillary. Some would say Donald Trump, perhaps. My friend set this up on his porch and I thought it was pretty cool. It's not really a political statement, it's just trying to show humor. Keep in mind, that we do live in an era where people seem to have lost their sense of humor. Anyway, if he done it with Donald Trump I would have still laughed. Happy Halloween!

Getting better

The redness and swelling are going away and I can actually walk now. I just have to stay on the antibiotics and dressing the wound. I should be in rare form soon. You have no idea how bad I've felt.

Monday morning

Business has been slow. I'm not going to beat around the bush. I need shoes and shoe strings. I am broke and struggling. I am tired, frustrated, and dealing with real anger issues. I need time off, money, and rest. I can find none of this. My entire situation sucks. I want to blame someone. What compounds all of this are drivers willing to work around the clock for scant money (that forces me to do the same). I am exhausted and wish I could get a break. I do think one is coming up. United Cab is doing all they can do but the economy has greatly increased their expenses. I do hope to have a happier post at the end if the day.

Joe Lopano forces Uber impact fees at Tampa International Airport which is highway robbery

I don't like being robbed at Tampa  International Airport The real reason Joseph W. Lopano let Uber and Lyft into TPA was he projected an increase in fees collected to be 5.2 million in the next two years. He seemed to view this as a revenue generating opportunity when the taxi companies were only able to come up with about 1.2 million a year. This was more than a reason to violate existing law. Joe Lopano (head of TPA) had a long range plan to soak the public and make a GIANT BONUS for himself. I wonder why he was fired in New York and flamed out in Dallas? Just wondering. The Tampa Bay Business Journal confirmed this fact the other day on their website. I knew he was corrupt and this proves it. Lopano stated that reason he let Uber and Lyft into the airport (violating the contract he had with the taxi companies) is he wanted to provide transportation alternatives to the traveling public. That was pure Bullshit. He simply saw how they could increase revenue long term by bilk...

Saturday night in Tampa

I thought I was a dirty old man. "The Senator' takes the cake because he is real (friend of the taxi man), 58 years old, and gets massive ass. He is a legend at the Castle in Ybor City, and in Tampa pop culture. Pop for his hard-on he sports in the clubs. I was going to say it takes balls to do what he does, but balls it is. Hay, I got a thong and a Cuban cigar. Monica would be happy (sorry for the 1997 reference,).
