Hurricane Irma and "The Superfecta"

A monster is on its way
If I time it right, I may lose my job, get evicted from my apartment, have my drivers license expired, and be wiped out by a hurricane ON THE SAME DAY! How cool is that! THE SUPERFECTA!

I owe my company a ton of money. With the advent of Uber and ride share, I have been destroyed because I have continued to try and be a street driver. I have no money to pay my landlord the rent that was due today. He told me he will evict me. I need to renew my drivers license by the 13th of September but I have no money to do so. Plus, there is a category 5 hurricane headed for Florida.

If I time it right, all my fears will come true on the same day. If that is the case, I hope this storm wipes out the state of Florida. I really don't want to see anyone hurt. I just want the pompous assholes that own big houses on the beach see their shit crushed. You know, the houses they earned on my back. I hope they have all their shit destroyed.

I will not evacuate. I will go to the beach and wait for it to arrive. I will stand on the shoreline and wait for it to do its thing. Lets see if I'm still standing after it goes thru. If not, who cares? I'm 61 years old. I've pissed away all the money I've ever made. I've pushed away anyone that ever gave a shit about me. I'm tired and I'm sinking. I've tried but I don't have it in me anymore to continue on. Come on Irma.

    Pawn everything right now except smart phone and some clothes. Pay the $$ to keep your driver's license!

    There will be tons of rebuilding $$ in Florida after it is all over. BILLIONS being poured in. Go to the worse hit areas. Get in line for all the free $$$FEMA. Say your apartment was blown away, no one checks or can prove otherwise.

    If you have a smartphone for free wifi, and a gym bag with some clothes and personal items, you are gold. You can get $$work driving relief trucks or cars or who knows what. Plus free room and board Something new and unique will come out of this.

    If Tampa isn't hit hard, take a bus or something to where it all fell apart.

Xzanthia has moved away

Xzanthia I found this on an old TBT. If you remember back in 2007, I had the honor of shooting Xzanthia in an art nude shoot. The recession hit and I could not keep up my craft. She was a fantastic model and artist and held events at her fathers nudist resort. I now know now she has moved onto other things. I wish her well. Her and her father were top notch. Travis Kalanick and his false promise of 50,000 jobs in Europe

Its just an app folks In an attempt to make nice with Europe after getting kicked out of Germany, Travis Kalanick stated that Uber creates jobs. In fact, he said it could create 50,000 jobs if transportation authorities would only change their regulations to allow Uber to operate. He said Uber will increase efficiency and reduce emissions. They would be able to do all these wonderful things if European cities would STOP making Uber play by the rules that all forms of transportation much follow. He must think his "app" company is not a taxi company which most municipals are figuring out. Stop this madness. First, I am having a hard time figuring out what Travis means by a job. His claim is they have created 7,500 jobs in San Francisco alone. Those are mostly part time punks that don't want to work at Starbucks or Wall Mart. Angel The Rescued Kitten

I have a new and wonderful friend. Her name is Angel. George found her on his way home at 3 in the morning running around on the elevated span of highway 19 in Clearwater. He pulled over and pulled out of a storm drain. He took her home and knocked on my door. He has two cats and wanted me to keep her overnight until he could find a neighbor to take her. I fell in love with her. She is now my best friend and keeps me company for I live alone. It's not fair that so much cuteness can be crammed into such a little thing.

Taxi man has been very sick

Sorry, but I have been very sick and have had no energy to even turn the computer on. Today was the first day I put in a full days work, and even did a swimming workout. I am finally on the rebound. I feel much better now.

RETIRED..what did you expect?

I have retired from taxi driving for good. I turned the keys in and walked away from 24 years on the streets. In a way, like Ronald Reagan said, the taxi business walked away from me. Anyway, I am home and doing nothing but getting caught up on a bunch of personal stuff. I am loving it. Check out this video about how I spend most mornings now. I have applied to work for Lyft and was approved, of course. I should be getting a new car next week and will be driving for them. Ride share has become the new taxi companies and they deliver what I am looking for. I have two monthly checks coming in which are enough to live off of. So don't worry about me. Its just that I was not exactly ready to retire but the circumstances gave me no choice. It does feel good, by the way.

I was coming back from Clearwater and noticed a Bats taxi behind me. He must be headed for TIA. Those guys get a lot of airport trips from across the Bay. The problem for them is they give it at half price...ug.

Hula Girl and a myopic cab driver

I was told today that I had a "myopic" viewpoint of taxi driving. Since I have been driving for 20 years, I believe I am in a position to make that determination. You have to be short sighted in today's market. Years of a bad economy and the rise of Uber, have made it that way. Cab drivers operate out of a sense of urgency. Our needs are so immediate, how can you be future oriented? I can. And it has nothing to do with the cab industry. I focus on things that give meaning to my life. Photography, swimming, Bigfoot, my blog give long range meaning, and slow me to set goals. Cab driving does not. My Hula girl is a big believer in American potential. You can dream big, and achieve big in America. All is possible....just not cab driving. Not the road to success. posted from Bloggeroid
