Tampa Taxi Shots

What a loser Victor Crist, who ruined the taxi industry by allowing ride share to come in, was voted out of office in the last election. He failed as a State Senator and he failed as a corrupt County Commission member. I have never seen anyone bow to a large corporation with lobbyist as this guy did. Good Bye asshole. You ruined a lot of lives.

The range was crowded with automatic weapons I was hired by a local militia group to film their Forth of July machine gun shootout. I even got in some good shots myself. It was good to see all these folks who were doing nothing wrong. They are only upholding their constitutional right to protect themselves and own guns. I felt at home with these folks.

The taxi business is dead in the United States. This industry is going the way of the Payphone and the neighborhood video store. Did I mention Kodak film? I know technology has changed the nature of work but in this case the politicians are who ruined the taxi industry. They were unwilling to support a regulated industry. Keep in mind, almost all businesses are regulated. For some reason, the politicians decided that because of the popularity of uber, they would allow Rideshare to operate until state legislators made them legal. Therefore, killing off my business. Why it was transportation and not construction, hairstyling, pizza delivery, hot dog stands, insurance, law, and so forth, I will take to my grave not knowing the answer. All I know, is that my life has been ruined. It is over. I cannot make a living. I'm being evicted from my home I cannot pay my electric bill or any other bill. My life is in shambles and I face an uncertain future. Is there really anything more to say? ...

This art film was taken on New Years Eve at the blessed grounds of Weedon Island. Archeologist believe Native Americans were living there before the Pyramids were built. I believe there is a back story to humanity that we are only now just beginning to understand.

I had a ride today to the Don Cesar and decided to take a walk on the beach on a cold winter day in Florida. I have always had a tradition of taking a selfie when I go to the Don. Today, I did a one minute video that seemed to capture the moment. Let me know what you think.

Now that the clouds are clearing up and the rain has gone away. The cold weather should be upon us as the cold front moves in. We have not had any real Winters in this part of Florida for about six years. That is changing now, as we will be near freezing again this weekend.  Meteorologist at the University of Florida were correct decades ago when they said the I-4 Corridor was the freeze line in Florida. It was based on this information, that the Citrus industry established their grows primarily in this part of Florida.  The nip and Tuck cold weather is necessary to ensure sweetness of the fruit. Climate change has not happened in this part of Florida apparently. Because we were still on the freeze line.

I'm sitting at the Wall Mart at Hillsborough & 15th and can't get a cash fare. It's Friday folks. Let's get going. Just got a bid. This new Blogger app must have changed my luck.

This is what I had to say on YouTube before they caught the Seminole Heights serial killer. It seems there were a string of killings of young, gay men in Seminole Heights that met a man on a gay app, never to be seen alive again. All of their bodies were dumped in ally ways near were the other killings happened. The image above is a composite of what the suspect looked like. Hum?

A short documentary about my day working Tampa International Airport. It was a slow day as we move closer to the holidays. That is really a bad time for cab driving in Tampa. No business travel and no medical charges for most of the doctors don't even work the last two weeks of the year. Today was decent. I can only take it one day at a time.

This was shot in downtown Tampa and its trying to provoke some kind of existential meaning about the distancing of human interaction brought on by the new social media. Sounds like artist babble if you ask me.

This is "Ghost Box" a film I did using a lot of symbolism and metaphor. Most of my audience seems to get it, so that was encouraging. This is a new field for me and I am trying my best to learn a form and style. Let me know what you think.

It seems the marketing campaign for the Buccaneers has been a bust. The only thing they have seiged is a 5 game losing streak. Offense sucks. Defense sucks. Jamies Winston sucks. Gerald McCoy sucks. Coaching sucks. Now, the weather sucks. Fitzpatrick will be starting quarterback today. Maybe that will change their fortunes.
