Jose Gaspar This statue of Jose Gaspar is located in a mobile home in on Handy Blvd. Do you know which one? Some historians don't think the pirate ever lived. He is more folklore then anyway. He still makes a good statue.

From Port Tampa There is something calm and peaceful about sunrise on a Saturday morning. Tampa Bay is beautiful and there is no traffic with its noise on the bridges. This photo was from south Tampa at the American Legion. There were several people fishing and one guy told me had caught a snook. How about that!

We were busy today. A convention has hit town and I was unaware of it. I knew something was up when I was leaving downtown and got a call offer in the Westshore area. A call offer is not a bid; it means it is a direct offer because nobody else is able to respond. That is very strange. I got the call at 7:37 AM. I did not get there until 7:58 AM. Heavy morning traffic and I stil made good time. The manager told me the fare was long gone becuase it took too long! What! It seems the fare got a ride with a co-worker and took off. Great. I drove all the way for nothing. The manager seemed unconcerned about my plight. Keep in mind folks, what can really slow us down is people not cancelling when their plans change. If we have cabs running on dead orders, it makes it difficult to serve everyone else in a timely mannor. Just be kind and cancel. Thank you

Finally! After five months of summer, autumn is here. Hiking, camping, and Bigfooting are now the order if the day. We have an expedition in the Green Swamp set for next week and the good times will now roll.

The first cold front is moving into the Tampa Bay region now. It will rain tomorrow,  then the temperatures will drop and it will be pleasant for the next seven months. It makes cab driving mire enjoyable and I have more energy. This is a view of downtown taken from the St. Pete Times Forum.
