No taxi calls during a NFL football game

This is my tablet one hour before kickoff of the Rams v Buccaneers game and there are no calls on the board. I have been doing this for 19 years and the board should be loaded. We are losing. Uber & Lyft are getting our customers and the local politicians (Victor Crist) only want to talk about it. The industry is being destroyed.

IMO. besides charging UBER and Lyft drivers with misdemeanor, they should start to tow away their cars

I may have found the escape hatch Regulated Taxi driving is now dead. Uber has taken over. The current situation is no longer tenable for drivers who face an old model of cab leasing, and can no longer continue paying a Pre-Uber lease. Today was the tipping point. Martin Mannes arrested in Key West for being an Uber driver

Key West Uber driver was arrested Friday for allegedly running a vehicle for hire without a city license to do so. The arrest of Martin Maness, 51, came following a recent city Police Department notice that the department would crack down on unlicensed vehicle-for-hire drivers. Department spokeswoman Alyson Crean said Friday's arrest followed complaints that Uber drivers were picking up fares from Key West International Airport. She said she didn't know who filed the complaints. Maness is charged with two misdemeanor counts of violating the city's ordinance after an undercover police officer received a ride from Key West International on South Roosevelt Boulevard to the Reach Resort at 1435 Simonton St. He was booked into jail around 10:40 p.m. and bailed out early Saturday morning on $701 bond. Uber hits roadblock in Florida

Ubers exponential growth has not been without problems. After amazing advances throughout the United States and Europe, they have hit a roadblock in Florida. Uber is now fighting it out with Miami and Tampa, where they are currently illegal. Understand it is against the law to ride in an uber car in Tampa. It's currently against the law for an uber car to be dispatched in under an hour. Tampa and Miami classify ride-share as a limousine company. The Storms of Chance

Once in a great while the storms of change will overshadow the plans of man. That would happen today. A cold wind blew over Tampa Bay this morning, a brief repose from the subtropical heat ever-present most of the year. The cool air felt good on my face and brought my spirits to a new high. I needed a lift. I had a ride out to Boco Ciega which is a beautiful part of the area. I had a scheduled ride of some significance and I felt hopeful. Requiem for the taxi industry

We lost. Its over. Uber won in court. A republican judge ignored law and ruled Uber to be legal. They do not abide by regulations but politicians and judges don't care. The number of lives that are adversely affected by Circuit Judge Huey is immeasurable. I should be upset but I'm not. Actually, I'm over it. I have moved on. I am making money off of YouTube and will soon open a new moneymaking channel along with my swimming blog. I am done with taxi driving. The hipsters want Uber so bad, they can have it.
